Travis Bercegeay started selling fireworks as a kid. He started in the back of his daddy’s pickup truck in 1968.
And after a couple seasons he decided he needed something else so he got a small shed. That lasted a couple years and he just needed something bigger. So he bought an old school bus. You would go in the front of the bus and then exit out the back. But this didn’t last long either as he was getting more customers and needed to expand. So right next door was his grandmother’s house. So he moved into it. Now during this whole time he didn’t have a business name, he just went by fireworks. But the license office told him he had to come up with a name. He had a year to come up with something. One day a customer came into his grandmother’s house and told him how their kids were excited about getting fireworks and they said “we want to go to the man in the blue house because he gives us things”. Well it just happen to be that his grandmother’s house was blue. Hence the name BlueHouse Fireworks was created. As his business kept growing he built the building that he is in today. With his wife, TK Bercegeay and along with his daughter Traci Streacker, they are making this business grow every year. He built the BlueHouse fireworks from the ground up. He is a hard worker and family man. His employees are local people and are like family to him. BlueHouse Fireworks has been in operation for 49 years at the same location at 13012 Highway 44, the corner of Cannon and Hwy 44 in Gonzales, LA.
